Frequently Asked Questions
SENIORS
The earlier you book, the more flexibility you'll have with dates and timing. Summer sessions, especially June through August, fill up several months in advance. If you're hoping for a summer session, spring is the ideal time to reach out. That said, if your ideal timeframe has passed, it's always worth checking — spots do occasionally open up. I'm currently booking the Class of 2027.
Both sessions include my Get Ready Guide, a one-on-one Zoom Consultation, an Image Reveal and Ordering Appointment, and yearbook photo submission if needed.
The Adventure Session is my signature senior experience. It includes professional hair and makeup, multiple locations, up to five outfit changes, a 2.5+ hour session, and 75 or more images to choose from.
The Focus Session is designed for seniors who want a beautiful, curated gallery in a more streamlined experience. It's one location, three outfits, approximately one hour, and 40 or more images to choose from.
Not sure which one is right for you? We'll talk through it together when you reach out.
Professional hair and makeup is included in the Adventure Session — it's one of the things that makes it the full senior experience. You get to relax and enjoy being pampered before your session even starts, and it makes a real difference in how confident and camera-ready you feel when we begin shooting.
If you've booked a Focus Session, you'll do your own hair and makeup, and my Style Guide includes tips to help your makeup photograph beautifully.
Your Consultation is a one-on-one Zoom call with me before your session. It's where we pull everything together — we'll talk through your outfit ideas, nail down your location, and design a session that feels completely like you. If you're not sure what you want yet, that's totally fine. That's exactly what the Consultation is for. You'll leave feeling prepared and excited, which means you'll arrive at your session more confident and comfortable.
Plan on 1 - 2.5 hours depending on your session type and how many outfits and locations we're working with. Focus Sessions are one hour long and tend to move efficiently since we stay in one location. Adventure Sessions, which include multiple locations and have a larger gallery to choose from, run a bit longer — and that extra time is what makes them feel unhurried and fun rather than rushed.
Session fees start at $150 for a Focus Session and $300 for an Adventure Session. The session fee covers your planning experience — including your Style Guide, one-on-one Consultation, your time with me on session day and the preparation of your images for your Reveal and Ordering Appointment. .Beyond the session fee, families invest in the artwork and products they choose at their Ordering Appointment — minimum investments start at $750.
My collections are built around heirloom-quality products — handcrafted albums, wall portraits, and keepsakes designed to be displayed and held onto for years. This isn't a folder of files delivered on a USB drive. It's artwork. My most popular product is my handcrafted 10x10 Signature Album, assembled in the USA, and most families leave their reveal with one in their order.
Digital images are available à la carte and are included in select collections — a beautiful way to archive your favorites and share them. But the artwork is the centerpiece of the experience.
Senior portrait sessions take place on location throughout the Twin Cities south metro — think natural settings, urban backdrops, open fields, and everything in between. If you have a specific place in mind that feels meaningful to you, bring it up at your Consultation and we'll talk it through. I'm not limited to a set list of locations. My goal is to find the setting that feels most like you, and I have plenty of options to share — including sample images — so you can get a feel for what's possible before we decide.
Outfit planning is one of the most common questions I get — and you won't have to figure it out on your own. Every client receives my exclusive what to wear Senior Style Guide, which covers everything from what photographs well on camera to outfit ideas by style, what to avoid, and how to put together looks that feel completely like you. We'll also talk through your specific outfits during your Consultation so nothing is left to guesswork. Most seniors bring 3 looks for a Focus Session and up to 5 for an Adventure Session.
Bring your outfits on hangers along with shoes and accessories for each look. If there's something that represents who you are — a sport, instrument, hobby, or activity — bring that too. Those personal touches are some of my favorite things to work into a session. Your Get Ready Guide, including your what to wear Style Guide, includes a full packing checklist so nothing gets left behind, and we'll also go over everything at your Consultation.
After your session, we'll schedule your Image Reveal and Ordering Appointment — this is where you see your full gallery for the first time. You'll also get to touch and see all of the products I offer in person before you decide what you love and want to order. Most clients have their reveal within 1-3 weeks of their session. It's honestly one of my favorite appointments — there's nothing like watching a senior and their family see the photos for the first time.
Your session fee covers the session itself — the planning, the consultation, and your time with me. After your session, we meet for your Image Reveal and Ordering Appointment, where you see your full gallery and get to touch and see examples of every product I offer before you order anything.
Digital files are available through several of my collections or a la carte, and three collections include a Custom Mobile App — mobile-friendly images that live right on your phone and are easy to share. My most popular product is my handcrafted 10x10 Signature Album, assembled in the USA — it's an heirloom quality piece that most families leave their Reveal wanting to hold onto forever. Everything is chosen at your Reveal, so you only invest in what you truly love.
