It was about this time last year that I started to talk with Sydney and her mom about her senior pictures. Sydney applied for my Class of 2022 Senior Crew, a VIP group of juniors that I start working with their junior year on their senior picture experience (click here to find out more about my Senior Crew).
I felt so blessed when Sydney applied for the Senior Crew as I was the senior photographer for her older brother's senior pictures and it's just such an honor to be chosen again for younger sibling's senior pictures too.
Sydney is a beautiful dancer so I had hoped she would want to include that in her senior pictures. She absolutely did, actually it was one of the first things we talked about. She had the costume she wanted to wear already in mind. Based on what she was wanting, her costume and my location ideas, here's one of the images from the dance portion of her senior session.
To start her session though we first stopped by a location in Rosemount because we just had to take advantage of the trees flowering in the spring.
Then we hit two different locations for Sydney's session to be able to capture what we planned for her at her Consultation!
"Tracy makes senior pictures a breeze. They can usually get pretty stressful but the meet up session before really helped give me a lot of confidence. Tracy suggested a lot of poses throughout the session which helped a lot" - Sydney, Rosemount High School Senior
Q&A with Sydney
As you started your senior year of high school, what were you most looking forward to?
I was looking forward to being the oldest in the school and hopefully things going back to normal as best as possible so we can still get somewhat the “senior year experience.”
Who are your favorite teachers?
My favorite teacher has either been Mrs. Morris or Mrs. Spraetz. Mrs. Morris gives us such an incredible opportunity to participate in dance through school and learn more about it. Mrs. Spraetz made online and hybrid learning so smooth and easy and she’s a genius! She knows every answer to any question anyone ever had.
As a dancer, what has been your most memorable moment in your dancing career?
The most memorable moments within my dancing career will always be the forever friendships I make and continue to make every year. ALL of my friends are through dance and it’s the kind of friendships you know will last forever.
What have you binge watched this year?
I binge watched Survivor. I have no clue why because I've never watched it before but I got really into it.
What is your advice to Underclassmen?
Be sure to enjoy every moment of high school. Even if it becomes miserable during the winter months to continue the cycle of doing your homework late, waking up early to go to school and repeat…just enjoy it while you can because it goes by so fast. Also don’t be afraid to reach out to anyone. Sometimes the best friendships come from the people you least expect it.
