As a senior photographer, I love it when clients say "Sure I'll do it, I trust you." When we discussed her first Senior Crew session I asked Maggie if she would try something out for me. I wanted to try partnering with a makeup artist as an option for my senior sessions. (Maggie wasn't able to join us at the official Senior Crew shoot because the State Swim Meet was the same weekend. Thank goodness it was all before the pandemic shutdown).
A few months ago I met Amber, a talented make up artist. Over the past few months mutual friends have raved about working with Amber so I started to talk to her about my senior sessions. Seniors often ask me about what they should do for make up for their session and I always want seniors to feel confident, beautiful and natural for their senior pictures. The problem is some makeup artists don't know how to apply make up correctly for senior pictures but as Amber has worked with brides and seniors she knows how to get makeup camera ready and she can pull off a beautiful natural look as well as full on glam - so whether seniors want a bit of glam or natural but beautiful face, Amber can make it happen.
Before we started working together we wanted to try it out which is where Maggie comes in. I told Maggie about the project and she was game to try but warned she usually didn't wear much make up. Perfect! She's just like many of my seniors . . . natural and beautiful.
Maggie said she loved having her makeup done for her senior session because "it was a lot less for me to worry about when getting ready." I loved how her makeup just accentuated her natural look.
The Class of 2021 will still get their time to shine for senior pictures. I am currently booking sessions in June, July and August. If the pandemic effects any session, those seniors will be the first to get a new date on the calendar. You can contact me here or give me a ring at 651-252-4496.
