Shannon| SES 2023 Senior Pictures

This fall Shannon will be starting her senior year at the School of Environmental Studies in Apple Valley but I was able to meet her when she contacted me during her junior year about taking her senior pictures and joining my Class of 2023 Senior Crew.

Shannon is actually helping me this summer trying to stay on top of my blog posts for the Class of 2023 so I am going to let her tell you a little bit more about her session.

Hey it's Shannon! I originally wanted to join the Senior Crew because I saw on Instagram photos of her 2022 crew shoots and they just looked really fun. I reached out to her and got a spot on her 2023 crew. The first Senior Crew shoot was super helpful, it helped me feel more comfortable behind the camera. When my actual senior session came, I wasn't intimidated by having professional photos taken. I was surprised how much I Ioved all my photos, since I am usually picky about photos of myself I like. I loved my photos so much, we bought the whole gallery!

We bopped around to a few different locations for Shannon's senior pictures so we could capture all of the things she wanted to include.

"I loved working with Tracy! She brought my senior picture visions to life. She helped me think of ideas to include my pet tortoise Tom in my session! The entire time she made me laugh. My favorite part was when she threw fake flowers into an open field so my photos had flowers in the background. You can't tell they aren't real!"

Q&A with Shannon, School of Environmental Studies Senior:

Who was/is your favorite teacher?

My favorite teacher from SES was my environmental science teacher, Mr. Nowicki. He didn't just teach the class about the environment, he showed us on our countless hikes how nature is outside a textbook.

What is something you remember about your elementary years?

Looking back on my elementary years I remember playing games like frogger and mafia out in the field.

Do you have any pets?

Yes! I have an American Guinea Pig named Clark (4 years old), a Pied Harlequin rabbit named Mr. Pi (8 years old), a painted turtle named Squishy (10 years old), a Russian Tortoise named Tom (8 years), and 10 assorted freshwater fish.

What is your advice for underclassmen?

My advice for underclassmen would be, don't overthink what your peers think of you. Just be yourself and you'll find the best friends.
