Summer Family Photo Mini Sessions

I'm opening booking for family mini sessions this August, which is new for me. I've always offered these in the fall, but this year I wanted to try something different. So many of my senior clients tell me they'd love family photos too, but by the time fall rolls around, older siblings are already back at college and it's hard to get everyone home on the same weekend. Offering these sessions in August makes it easier to catch the whole family together, including the kids who are about to head back to school.

If you’ve been meaning to update your family photo or just want a quick, relaxed session that captures your crew as they are right now, this is for you. These minis are designed to be short, sweet, and easy—with beautiful, family photos you will cherish.

Frequently Asked Questions About Family Photos in the Twin Cities
What should I wear for family photos?
I always recommend starting with mom. Pick out what she wants to wear first, since that sets the tone and color palette for everyone else. From there, coordinate any teenage daughters to mom's colors, and fill in the guys with tones that complement the rest of the family. It's completely fine if someone wants to wear a pattern, just pull a color or two out of it and work those shades into what everyone else is wearing so the whole family feels pulled together.
What should I do with my family photos once I have them?
Print them. A hero image on your wall, the one everyone loves, paired with a few complementary photos in a gallery wall arrangement, is one of my favorite ways for families to use their session. Your images also make beautiful holiday cards and holiday gifts for grandparents and other family members. If you'd like help with any of it, I'm happy to help you put together a gallery wall using professionally lab printed products through my partners.
Will you be offering fall family photos?
I haven't yet planned for fall family mini sessions. If you're interested and doing a fall session instead of a summer session, please email me at tracy@tracycaffreyphotography.com to let me know. Or, follow my Facebook page as I will post information there.
